May 3 & 17, 2014 Bird Walks
8:00 am-10:00 am
Meet at Songbird Habitat and Trails. Join Fernbank Science Center Orinthologist Chris Showalter for a casual bird hike around the 1mile Songbird Trail. Learn to find and  identify native bird species while gaining insight into the world of Orninthology.
Bring binocluars although some will be available.
No registration needed.


May 10, 2013 Wildflower Walk  
10am – 12 noon  
Meet at the Harold Cox Nature Garden Trail Parking Lot. Join Larry Winslett, nature photographer and  co-author of Wildflowers of Stone Mountain, for a 1 mile hike and get wildflower photography tips. Please register by calling 770.498.5658.  Adults and children 15 and older.

June 7, 2014 Photography Class
9 am – 1 pm
Meet at Confederate Hall Historical and Environmental Education Center  Join Larry Winslett, nature photographer and co-author of Wildflowers of Stone Mountain, for a classroom lecture on photography tips. Follow this up with a hike along the Cherokee Trail and out onto the mountain to practice. Please register by calling 770.498.5658. Adults and children 15 and older.

Reptiles and Amphibians of GA - Fridays  June and July
2pm - 3pm
Learn all about the reptiles and amphbians of GA and see up close live examples!
Located at Confederate Hall. No registration needed.

 

Family Storytime and Nature Study Wednesdays in June and July
2-4 pm

Listen to one chapter read aloud, then take a nature walk. Optional: Bring your own exploration tools:plastic bucket, magnifier, binoculars, and bag for nature collectables A supervising adult must accompany children at all times. Meet at the playground.

Rock and Mineral Day - Labor Day 2014
