November                                                                                                                                                             Its a colorful time at the park! The view from the top of the mountain is amazing, on clear days visibility is over 60 miles and the changing trees provide an especially vivid outlook.  Around the park, Tulip Poplars, Hickories Muscadine Grapevine and some Oaks have turned yellow, Maples, Dogwoods and Sassafrass are red. Colorful fall fruits include: purple Beautyberries,  red Strawberry Bush berries, red Dogwood fruits and orange Persimmons.

At the end of the month, look for wildlife foraging for food.  You might see very active Deer, Chipmunks, Squirrels and Songbirds, look for Wild Turkey and listen for both Barred Owls and Great Horned Owls in the evenings! Look for waterfowl on the lake and signs of beaver activity around the lake. Listen for owls near dawn and dusk!
