First Grade Stone Mountain Animals 1.5 Hours Science GPS: S1CS7(a,b), S1L1(b,d) Students get up close and personal with an animal and learn about animals living on Stone Mountain through a series of outdoor games. Classroom Pre-Trip Activity Classroom Post-Trip Activity Mountain Meteorology 1.5 Hours Science GPS: S1CS3(a,c), S1CS6(b,d), SICS7(a,b), S1E1(a,b,c) Students become Mountain Meteorologists and venture out to measure weather conditions on different areas of the mountain. Students then prepare a TV-style weather segment and report on current weather and predictions. Classroom Pre-Trip Activity Second Grade Stone Mountain Animal Life Cycles 1.5 Hours Science GPS: S2CS1(a), S2CS4(b,c), S2CS5(a), S2L1(a) Students are introduced to the life cycles of common animals living at Stone Mountain and head out on the mountain to explore their habitat.
