about education: k-2nd school programs

For the 2010-2011 school year our programs will be offered to school groups free of charge. The programs complement the Georgia science and social studies GPS and the North American Association for Environmental Education Guidelines for Excellence in Environmental Education. The GPS relevant to each program is linked below.

Program descriptions are listed below and relevant Pre and Post-Trip Activities are available.

Most programs begin at the Confederate Hall Education Center, located at the bottom of the Stone Mountain Walk-up Trail, but explore numerous locations throughout Stone Mountain Park. Please contact Brian McKnight for additional information, brochures or scheduling.  770-498-5620  Email: Stone Mountain Education Programs

Forms for teachers, information for chaperones, background information, frequently asked questions, and many resources can be found under the education: teacher resources section.

Private and public school buses are admitted to Stone Mountain Park for free!

Information about other Stone Mountain Park field trip opportunities can be found at the Stone Mountain Park attractions site. For lunch and park souvenirs, please visit the attractions area at Memorial Hall and the Skylift! You can schedule group reservations for park attractions by calling Park Sales at 770-498-5636. We will be happy to work with you and help you to design and schedule a full day at the park, combining an outdoor field trip experience and a visit to one of the park attractions!
