  June                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Now blooming on the mountain and granite outcrops: Granite Coreopsis, Rock Portulaca, Rock Pink, St. John's Wort, Butterfly Weed and Beautyberry. In the woods and on the edges: Mimosa Tree, Woodland Sunflower, Sumac and Trumpet Creeper. Look out for turtles on the move in the park- females are looking for nesting spots... ducklings and goslings can be seen following their parents around by the lakes too! Look for tadpoles and Clam Shrimp in the vernal pools at the top of Stone Mountain!
