Bring your students to explore our interactive and educational geology exhibit in the Confederate Hall Historical and Environmental Education Center! The exhibit information is on a 4th grade and higher level. To schedule: Please call 770-498-5620 to schedule your group in the museum. We are frequently conducting other programs in the building and need to coordinate around your school. We can provide clipboards, pencils and copies of an exhibit scavenger hunt. Three classes, or 75 students total, can use the exhibit at one time. If you are bringing more than 75 students, we will discuss ways to prepare a rotation of students through the exhibit. Once scheduled: Once you schedule with us, we will send you a confirmation sheet, directions to the building and a map of the park. Groups choose to eat lunch in the plaza area near Confederate Hall Historical and Environmental Education Center, at the playground or under a pavilion in Stone Mountain Park. Policies: We ask that you please bring 1 chaperone for every 10 students. Make the chaperones aware of the program and their responsibilities. Chaperones should either be positioned around the exhibit or lead small groups of students through the exhibit. Please remind students to walk, look and read while in the geology exhibit. Park visitors may also be enjoying the exhibit. |
