Why do you hike Stone Mountain Park?
Robert (Bob) King
Bob is one of the more accomplished hikers on Stone Mountain. At 70 years old, he climbs the mountain almost every day of the year, except when he is away on one of his more challenging backpacking trips to places like Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa), Yosemite National Park (Western USA), and Patagonia (South America), to name just a few.
A member of the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club and an avid hiker, Bob does this for a variety of reasons; his mental, spiritual, and physical health are among them. He also helps to maintain a section of the Appalachian Trail in North Georgia.
